Soil Heavy Metal Screening
Screening packages
This heavy metal screen measures arsenic, cadmium and lead, and is designed for gardens and urban farms. Heavy metal screening is recommended for sites that are urban, industrial, within 10 feet of a current or former structure that was built before 1960, or have an unknown history.
Soil heavy metal screen results include an interpretation and recommendation (Example Report). Interpretations for soil lead results are also given in Interpreting Garden Lead Test Results. Only lead, arsenic, and cadmium are reported, as these are the most common metals of concern in urban areas. However, selenium, mercury, zinc, copper, and nickel will also be evaluated. These metals will be reported only if a soil is contaminated. To order testing, see the Sample Submission page.
